After every holiday season, millions of shoppers hit stores to return gifts from those who, as it turns out, don’t really know them as well as they thought they did. And, too often, returning gifts means waiting in long lines and having to explain the nature of a gift return. Fortunately, there’s a way to avoid the hassles that come with returning gifts: having a gift receipt in hand. Once thought of as a novelty, six out of 10 shoppers now give gift receipts along with a gift.
